I call this the "19"as the wheels are cast with the number 19. This dolly dates from the late 1800's and measures about 18 inches across and 24 inches or so long. It was completely dismantled, its original cast iron wheels were stripped and sandblasted along with its axles and center brace. The wood was glued and received only minor repairs as to retain the evidence of its former life as a shipping dolly. The wheels were coated with a blue and silver paint to mirror mild steel, the wood was lightly massaged and finished in satin polyurethane to preserve it and to highlight its patina and wear. The wine rack had mounting tabs added to ensure bottles stay safe on top. It holds 8 bottles of wine. Great for a living room, kitchen or even on a large kitchen island. Be great in a factory brick loft condo where dollys such as this were once used everyday, also be good in older home as a conversation piece. These pictures were taken with a camera phone and really do not do justice to the detail.
